Three Princeton recruits are in the middle of the playoffs, but the biggest news happened off the ice.
Josh Melnick, who was slated to arrive on campus this fall, decommitted from Princeton last week. There is no official word on where Melnick will play next season. The forward’s 58 points are tied for 8th in the USHL.
Melnick played high school hockey at Delbarton and overlapped with current Tigers Mike Ambrosia, Tommy Davis and Colton Phinney.
Here’s more from this week’s Princeton hockey recruit roundup:
After dropping two games to Brooks, Camrose earned a 6-2 Game 6 victory, and Spencer Kryczka recorded his first hat trick and finished the night with four points. In Friday’s loss he scored two goals.
Kingston defeated Trenton to take the Northeast Conference championship. Colin Tonge recorded a goal on Wednesday.
Austin Shaw started both games, and made 18 saves in a Game 1 win. After facing six shots and allowing two goals, he was replaced in the second game, when Wichita earned a 6-5 win.
