Princeton Hockey Recruit Roundup

It’s been a busy two weeks for Princeton recruits. Some finished with their playoffs, while others just started. The Tigers also picked up a big commitment from Malden Catholic right wing Jack Adams.

Here’s more from this week’s Princeton hockey recruit roundup:

AJHL:

Camrose took its series with a 3-2 OT win against Drumheller on March 19, The Kodiaks started their series with the Brooks Bandits, and hold a 2-0 lead in the series. Spencer Kryzcka recorded a goal and an assist in Camrose’s second win of the series.

CCHL:

The Rangers were swept by Ottawa in their second playoff series, and were shut out in their last loss.

OJHL:

Cobourg’s series against Trenton went to six games, with the Cougars falling 2-1 in the last game. Alex Riche recorded one assist in the series.

After defeating Aurora, Kingston is currently tied in its series with Trenton 1-1. Colin Tonge had a two-goal game in Kingston’s 7-1 win over Aurora, and added a goal and an assist in the series-clinching 6-2 win.

NAHL:

Austin Shaw made 39 saves in a 6-1 win over Amarilo. He earned a couple of losses against Lone Star, stopping 25 of 30 shots one night and making 14 of 16 saves the next. Wichita Falls will play the Killer Bees in a best-of-three series to start the playoffs.

Prep:

Shattuck St. Mary’s made the USA U-18 tournament, where it defeated Amherst 11-0 and fell to the N.J. Avalanche 5-4 before the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Shattuck beat the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 4-2, but fell to the Connecticut Wolf Pack 4-1 in the semifinals. Jake Paganelli finished the tournament with one goal and four assists.

USHL:

The Phantoms extended their winning streak to 17games before falling to Omaha. Josh Melnick recorded a goal in  Youngstown’s win on March 20, added an assist on March 22 and a goal in the loss to Omaha.
