Three Princeton alumni – Kyle Hagel, Mike Sdao and Mike Moore – earned the AHL Man of the Year award for their respective teams.
This is Hagel’s fifth Man of the Year, all earned with five different teams. Hagel, a co-founder of Shnarped and HP4K, brought Stick to Reading to Charlotte.
Moore, a former captain of Princeton hockey, now has four Man of the Year awards. This is first season with the Hershey Bears and his seventh year in the AHL.
This is Sdao’s first time winning the award, and his second full season with the Senators after graduating from Princeton in 2013. Sdao instate HP4K’s Stick to Reading program at local schools and has worked with Magic Paintbrush Project’s Paint with the Players and Toys for Tots.
All three are finalists for the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the AHL’s overall Man of the Year. The winner will be announced later this year.
