Senior forward Jonathan Liau is no longer with the Princeton hockey team.
In a statement to Eye on the Tigers, the team said Liau “voluntarily left the team last week for personal reasons.”
Per a source, Liau left to focus on his academics and his career. The senior is pre-med.
The Burbank, Calif., native was Princeton’s leading scorer last season. This year, he appeared in eight games and recorded two points (1g, 1a). Liau also played in both games at Maine on Nov. 27 and 28.
Through 81 games in his career, Liau recorded 34 points (8g, 26a). The 5-foot-9 forward spent two seasons in the USHL, including a 13-game stint with Youngstown where he played alongside classmate Mike Ambrosia.
